Hidden Gems Wilderness Campaign
RFMBA has introduced HG 3.0 - a counter-proposal to the current Roaring Fork Valley portion of the Hidden Gems Wilderness Proposal. After months and years of negotiations with HG proponents, we've come to a place where we must agree to disagree about some very important areas within the current 2.0 Proposal. HG 3.0 allows for the same overall acreage of proposed Wilderness by removing the areas of critical concern to the mountain bike community, while also re-introducing a large area of land that was in the original Hidden Gems proposal in 2007. We encourage you to review the HG 3.0 proposal which has been submitted to the Pitkin County Commissioners. We believe that HG 3.0 will garner broader community support while protecting an equal amount of acreage in the Roaring Fork Valley.
Please let your State Representative and County Commissioners know that you can support Wilderness, but that the details of where the boundaries are matter to you.
