Board Members

Al Beyer, President: Al is a longtime Aspen local with an understanding and appreciation of the valley and deep ties to many residents. As the principal architect of Al Beyer Design Inc for 20 + years, he has been responsible for over 150 structures in the area. Notable projects include the Aspen Valley Ski Club, a dozen mountain huts, ACES staff housing and many locals’ homes. He was a founding member of the Aspen Men’s Hockey League in 1987, served as president for 12 years and remains involved as a player and board member. Al has also served on the board of the Alfred Braun Hut System since its inception. With wife Ruthie Brown, he has raised 2 children, now full grown, who are 4th generation valley residents. Al is a fun loving athlete who enjoys biking, kayaking, ski mountaineering, climbing, and the perfect play in hockey.

Charlie Eckart, Vice President: Originally from San Francisco and Marin County, Charlie moved to Aspen in 1993 and has balanced the demands of architecture and bicycle racing over the past two decades. He is an ex-president of the Aspen Cycling Club, and an active participant in many of Colorado's trail organizations, including volunteering as a crew leader for RFOV. He is keenly aware of the possible outcomes of a lackadaisical approach to trail management after watching most of Marin County's trails become offlimits to mountain bike users due to lack of organization. Charlie is a licensed architect, a LEED accredited professional and a newly certified residential energy rater. He is currently starting up a home energy consulting business, Ute City Conservancy.

Kirk Hinderberger, Treasurer: Kirk grew up in Marin County where mountain biking was born, then banned. He's supported the struggle for mountain bike access to trails since first taking up the sport in 1998 through trail maintenance, membership in IMBA and now helping to organize mountain bikers in the Roaring Fork Valley. He is an RFOV trail crew leader. Kirk currently resides in Aspen and makes a point of searching out the less traveled rides in our area. He is part owner of Mitchell and Company, a computer consulting company.

Mike Pritchard, Secretary: Aspen resident Mike Pritchard graduated from Cornell University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. He worked for CCY Architects from 1999 - 2009, focusing on both residential and commercial projects. His commitment to sustainable design was an asset to the firm’s continued growth in the field. He currently serves as President for the Aspen Cycling Club’s board of directors, enjoys participating in local races, and has finished the Leadville Trail 100 mountain bike race four times. Mike is also an RFOV trail crew leader. A true mountain geek, Mike has made a point of making turns on snow each month of the year since moving to Colorado.

Len Zanni, Marketing Chair: Missouri Heights resident Len Zanni is co‐owner of outdoor equipment company Big Agnes and director of marketing for Honey Stinger. He serves on the board of the Aspen Cycling Club and has been a long time cyclist. Len races in the pro category in NORBA cross country races.
