Undie Trail Build Weekend!

August 8 @ 11:00 am - August 9 @ 5:00 pm

Please join us!  Come out and help finish the build on the upper portion of the Undie trail.  Thanks to State Farm / Todd Fugate for sponsoring this weekend.

Choose to work Saturday, Sunday or both days.  Socially distanced / dispersed camping is available in the project vicinity on Saturday Night.   Trail building tools provided.  Bring your own work gloves and masks (both required), water, and appropriate meals and camping gear.  For this event, we’re requesting pre-registration.  Please email info@rfmba.org to let us know what day(s) you’ll attend and how many will be in your family/household group.

We will get going at 11 am on Saturday.  If the weather turns sour we will postpone the event the following weekend August 15-16.

There is one main way to drive to the camp/work site.  We recommend only high clearance 4WD vehicles, but the road is not steep and not too rocky.  From the top of the divide parking lot trailhead between Prince Creek and West Sopris Creek, follow BLM Road 8320 to the top of the mountain.  You can also park at the Divide Parking Lot and ride your bike up about 2.4 miles to the project site.

To work with current public health guidance, please note that we’ll be using the following protocols:   Volunteers will work in groups of 10 or less people, with one staff person assigned as a crew leader for the small group.  Each group will maintain at least 100′ from adjacent work groups.  Volunteers must bring their own gloves, food, and water, and masks must be worn when within 20 feet of non-family/household members.  Hand tools provided to volunteers will be disinfected prior to use.

Volunteers must not carpool to the project site unless they are part of the same family/household.  While trail build activities are occurring, volunteers will maintain at least 10′ from others; this will be reinforced by the staff crew leader as needed (who will also provide guidance on other safety issues related to trail building with hand tools).    The check-in table will have disinfectant / hand washing station and safety signage.  Disposable masks will be available for volunteers that arrive without masks.  No food will be provided to volunteers. Volunteers have the option of dispersed (and socially distanced) camping in the vicinity of the project site if they are attending both days, but no event activities will be related to volunteers deciding to camp overnight in the vicinity.
