Re-Route Jens Trail – Public Lands Day – May 19th

May 19 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Colorado Public Lands Day is Saturday, May 19th.  Last year RFMBA joined with the Red Hill Council & RFOV to create a reroute of the Upper Blue Ribbon trail on Red Hill.  Volunteers worked hard and created a great new section of trail.

This year, RFMBA is planning for another great trail work day with our partners at Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers.  Jen’s Trail is located in the upper Prince Creek system and is often used to connect with the Skull Bucket trail. Part of the lower trail is currently located on private property and it must be re-routed with a new “Lower Jen’s” trail.  More trails are planned for that upper area, so the new Jens trail will become an important linking trail for more than just the classic Skull Bucket.

For more info and to pre-register for this volunteer event, go to RFOV.org

Attending this project will help to qualify you for our annual Cima Cycles Bike Giveaway, thanks to our friends at Ute City Cycles!

Colorado is the first state in the nation to establish its own Public Lands Day.  This holiday is dedicated to Coloradans getting outside and enjoying the numerous, unique, and beautiful public lands our state has to offer, while keeping in mind the need for their protection and conservation.  Join us on May 19th to celebrate this day by building some new trail!
