Re-Route Jens Trail – Public Lands Day – May 19th
Colorado Public Lands Day is Saturday, May 19th. Last year RFMBA joined with the Red Hill Council to create a reroute of the Upper Blue Ribbon trail on Red Hill. Volunteers created a great new trail.
This year, RFMBA is planning another great trail work day. Jen’s Trail is located in the upper Prince Creek system and is often used to connect with the Skull Bucket trail. Part of the lower trail is currently located on private property and it must be re-routed with a new trail. More trails are planned for that upper area, so the new Jens trail will become an important linking trail more than just Skull Bucket.

Colorado Public Lands Day was an important factor in demonstrating Colorado’s commitment to public lands, helping to incentivize the relocation of the Outdoor Retailer Trade Show from Utah to Colorado. Inspired, other states have passed their own state public lands day holidays.
