What’s behind the trail boon in Prince Creek

For a long time in the Roaring Fork Valley, going back to at least the 1980s, the answer to the question was that most trails were being built illegally. These “bandit” trail makers, though well intentioned and providing a service to the community, were nonetheless breaking the law on public lands and often unwittingly trespassing on private property.
